Monday 21st July - walk **** – Levington including picnic – Heavy rain then sunny periods.

Woke to some pretty heavy rain here in Felixstowe, heard on Facebook there was some flooding in Walton, the Orwell rounsabout and Ferry Road, so headed out just after nine to take a few pics but all the flooding had gone! I ended up at Felixstowe Ferry and got a few pics there before returning home. After breakfast I packed a picnic before going to the dentist in Walton, we were then hoping to head somewhere for a walk but it looked dodgy some some heacvy showers still coming through! We had no destination in mind so just drove through the Trimley villages when we got a message from my sister saying she was in the area so agreed to meet up at Levington Marina. Stopping to talk to a friend Jamie before parking up at our windsurfing launch spot before my sister and her daughter arrived and enjoyed a lovely catch-up chat over a cuppa:) When they left we had our picnic on the bench near the marina entrance as the sun made an appearance making it quite warm with some stunning clouds passing overhead in the light winds. We then had 5 noisy chinook helicopters fly over head before we set off on a nice walk past the café, through the trees leading to Loompit lake with its many swans making it all the way to the lovely beach before returning and we were lucky to avoid any showers! Then home via Sainsbury’s for a cuppa as we were knackered, top day none the less :)
